I came into this quarter making it a point focus on tasks that really make me happy. I've taken on jobs that have revived a passion that I thought was temporarily lost. I'm going to list the things that I'm currently devoting my time to for those of you who may be curious of my whereabouts.
First and foremost I'm a student studying fashion design. In the late hours of the night I discover more and more about myself through design. I love design, I love to create physical things that other people find beauty in. This is a job because I treat every professor as if they were my boss giving me assignments; I work with them to learn and achieve a personal goal. This is what I'm training to do, so it's my most important obligation. I never want design to feel like a chore and right now it doesn't.

I've been working endless hours with my co-Editor-in-Chief, Anthony O'Baner, alongside an absolutely amazing, hardworking, inspiring, group of creatives to perfect our school's fashion blog. We have a vision and in order to achieve the goals we've set for the blog we've gotta work around the clock. Through this blog we are able to communicate the culture of fashion at SCAD. It also comes with a few perks- meeting Calvin Klein made the all-nighters worth it. One day I may find myself doing creative work with some type of print magazine. I do this job because I love it, I love the people, and I enjoy bringing fun into the cut throat environment. (scadmanor.com)
I'm working for Vans! They reached out to me and asked me to bring the Vans "Off the Wall" culture to SCAD. If you want a defined job description I really couldn't tell you because I too am still figuring that out. They told me that I had to attend social events wearing their shoes, coordinate a Vans DIY workshop with 12 talented artists, repost pictures that they post, and "embody the Vans image." Cool, got it! But I can push it further. So I've decided to do all of that, and currently I'm working with Van's corporate office to coordinate some exclusive discounts with SCAD students- and some other stuff that I can't mention quite yet! As usual there are things in the works, but it's just getting started. Things I've learned thus far: Vans is a company that works and plays hard; I am a huge fan of their attitude, (and their shoes obviously).
I love my friends, and I love conversing with them. It's really important to get to know the people I work with outside of the office because if we vibe well as a group we'll work harder together. Also, my best, most dear friends make me smile and laugh everyday. The people in my life are beyond inspiring; they've always told me I can do it when I feel like I'm failing. They are the realest and chillest people- hanging out with them isn't a job, it's simply an investment of my time.
Cheers to new experiences, new people, and more fashion!
